Frequently Asked Questions

How Do Fractional Lasers Work?

Fractional laser treatment creates narrow, deep columns that extend through the epidermis into the dermis through an array of intense laser energy microbeams. The body’s natural healing process creates new, healthy tissue to replace the columns of affected tissue – improving the skin condition being treated.

How Many Fractional Treatments Are Required?

Satisfying results can be observed within 2-3 weeks after a single treatment. However, 2 to 3 follow-up treatments are recommended for maximum benefits.

How long does the procedure take?

Prior to the procedure, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied to your face and left in place for 1 hour. The actual procedure itself will take about 40 to 60 minutes.

Is the treatment painful?

With the topical anesthetic patients are usually comfortable and will feel a warm sensation on the skin.

What should I expect after the treatment?

After treatment, your skin will show fine pinpoint like patterns as a result of the treatment. The skin will appear sunburned but gradually fade within 1 week.

Post Laser Care

This is a critical component in caring for your skin after laser. You will be required to use a moisturizer and sunblock to protect from the sun's damaging UV rays. As post laser care is individualized, it is important to follow your doctor's advise and instructions exactly for optimum results.
